At Penn Yan / Yates County Airport, Safety is our #1 priority.
The major stakeholders at Penn Yan / Yates County airport, with the full support of the Penn Yan / Yates County Airport Council and Yates County Legislature, created an Airport Safety Committee to actively monitor the airport and provide all the tools necessary to insure safe operations. Our safety enhancements include:
PENN YAN/ YATES COUNTY AIRPORT SMS PROGRAM
As with all SMS programs, we need the participation of everyone who uses our airport to be successful. To complete a Safety Report, click the Airport Safety logo at the top of every page in our website - this will take you to our SMS portal. If you see ANYTHING that could compromise safety - PLEASE use this forum to report it! Our Safety Committee meets monthly (and ASAP if necessary) to review all submissions. Please help us keep everyone safe at Penn Yan Airport!

Penn Yan Airport utilizes 1200.aero to monitor all airport operations. 1200.aero features Real-time traffic in the air and on the ground, live CTAF/tower audio, scheduled arrivals and departures, and parked aircraft. More importantly, 1200.aero analyzes air traffic, inbound flights, and aviation safety events such as near mid-air collisions and in-flight emergencies.

You can listen to the KPEO CTAF at anytime. This is available to allow the Airport to monitor air traffic as well as verify arrivals and departures. We also have access to historical CTAF data if required to analyze safety protocols as well as review any reported incidents at airport.
